From Fieldbus into the Cloud - Safely! Visit Deutschmann at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2016 in hall 2 booth 240.
Bad Camberg, Germany – The Secure Cloud Gateways from Deutschmann Automation and MB Connect Line for the secure data communication from the fieldbus level to the Internet in the Industry 4.0 environment can be integrated without additional effort in existing industrial plants. Whereby, the configuration of the individual machines is not affected. Access is made via bus systems that permit a subsequent integration, e.g. the master-master communication in MPI, PROFIBUS or Modbus systems.
The Secure Cloud Gateways provide an effective protection against unauthorized external data attacks to sensitive data at the field level and against the injection of manipulated program code. The integrated hardware data diode ensures that communication is possible in only one direction – from the data source to the cloud interface – but not in the reverse direction. The connection to the cloud is protected with a TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption. The high level of security of the Security Cloud Gateways is also achieved using a hardened operating system with Secure Boot.
The Internet allows the Secure Cloud Gateways to be connected via various options such as Ethernet, mobile communications (LTE, 3G) or WiFi. The devices are easy to configure and can establish a reliable VPN connection.
The deployment of Secure Cloud Gateways allows users to set up a secure connection to individual machines independent of the location in order to query data such as function, productivity and loading. Various information, such as measured values, consumption data and alarm signals, can be stored in the cloud.
The first Secure Cloud Gateways support the MPI/PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Modbus and Ethernet bus protocols. Thanks to its modular design, the blocks can be adapted to the changing requirements and tasks of Industry 4.0 in the future.
For more than two decades, Deutschmann Automation designs and manufactures innovative of protocol converters, fieldbus and industrial Ethernet gateways, and embedded solutions as well as development tools under the brand name UNIGATE.
